The MOC Listserv...

Messages that are allowed on the listserv:
  • Trip-announcements/Requests.
  • Time-Critical outdoors advice requests (also create a topic on the Forum and direct the people to answer there)
  • Warnings (for example about dangerous climbing conditions)
  • MOC Announcements
  • Other messages approved by the Executives
Messages that are forbidden on the listserv(unless you have a permission from the executives):
  • Commercial Advertisement
  • Apartment/Roommate related messages
  • Car Pooling/ride requests to anywhere else except the house
  • Announcements for other organizations (environmental causes etc)
  • Sending "I want to go on your trip" to the entire listserv instead of the person who posted the trip

Whenever sending a message to the listserv that might generate some discussion, it is a good idea to create a thread on the forum and send a link to it in the email.

To post a message to the listserv, send it in an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , from there it'll be forwarded to everyone else on the list.

Digest Mode

If you find that you are getting too much email from the list, you can enable digest mode.
It will send you one email a day with all the ones sent in the past 24 hours.
