The McGill Students Outdoors Club

The MOC Listserv used to be the club's only means of communication. Now, to free up our mailboxes, the Forum is availble.

The MOC Listserv...

Messages that are allowed on the listserv:
  • Trip-announcements/Requests.
  • Time-Critical outdoors advice requests (also create a topic on the Forum and direct the people to answer there)
  • Warnings (for example about dangerous climbing conditions)
  • MOC Announcements
  • Other messages approved by the Executives
Messages that are forbidden on the listserv (unless you have a permission from the executives):
  • Commercial Advertisement
  • Apartment/Roommate related messages
  • Car Pooling/ride requests to anywhere else except the house
  • Announcements for other organizations (environmental causes etc)
  • Sending "I want to go on your trip" to the entire listserv instead of the person who posted the trip
Please read the guidelines for more details.

The Forum is to be used to ask for not-so-urgent advice, to buy/sell/trade used gear, look for roommates and so on.

Whenever sending a message to the listserv that might generate some discussion, it is a good idea to create a thread on the forum and send a link to it in the email.
