Gear
The MOC maintains a comprehensive stock of equipment for a wide range of
outdoors activities. Gear is rented out on a weekly basis.
Each member is allowed to rent at a time, unless they have a specific permission from the Gear Manager (
):
- one (1) tent
-
up to three (3) items of the same type
Please note: in addition to the normal rental fee, a cash or cheque
deposit is required for every gear rental. The deposit is returned
after you bring back the gear in good condition (i.e. clean, dry, non-broken). Also, gear rentals are a service offered to members only. |

FQME cards
As of 2009, thanks to an agreement with the Fédération du Québec de la Montagne et de l’Escalade (FQME), we now have two FQME cards in our possession that our members can use during their trip free of charge. The FQME (
http://www.fqme.qc.ca) is an organization that regulates access to numerous sweet rock/ice climbing sites around Quebec. As of this year, our new contract will allow our members who are running trips to enter their parks for free.
To access the parks, you need to bring:
- one of our FQME cards
- your MOC membership card
- a letter of authorization to borrow the cards which we will provide to you upon request (upon our approval of your trip)
Since we only have two FQME cards, certain specific rules apply:
- an $80 deposit must be made prior to renting a card
- a card must be returned by the Wednesday following the day you borrowed them
- since these are precious items, a $2/day late fee applies
